Doha Sightseeing, Museum of Islamic Art
Depart from the port of Hamad for an approximate 45/60 minute drive to the Museum of Islamic Art. This iconic building on the Doha Corniche, designed by the
famous architect I. M. Pei, is built on an island off an artificial projecting peninsula near the traditional dhow harbor. The museum is influenced by ancient Islamic architecture yet has a uniquely modern design involving geometric patterns. It is the first of its kind to feature over 14 centuries of Islamic art in the Arab States of the Persian Gulf. Take a guided tour of the museum through the most comprehensive collections of Islamic art in the world, with masterpieces from every corner of the globe representing the diversity found in Islamic heritage.
State Mosque
Proceed with a short drive to the State Mosque. As the largest mosque in Qatar, Imam Abdul Wahhab, also known as the Qatar State Grand Mosque, was
inaugurated in 2011. Its simple lines and graceful arches are nonetheless eye-catching, and characteristic of the Islamic architectural tradition. The mosque houses three libraries, separate prayer and ablution halls for men and women, and special halls for Quran memorization, and can hold over 30,000 worshippers.
Your half day artistic and cultural experience concludes with an approximate 45/60 minute drive back to the ship.

Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking and standing of approximately 0.6 miles (1 km) over uneven surface with some steps to negotiate at the State Mosque and a few to get on/off the coach. This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility or for guests who utilize a wheelchair. We recommend guests wear light comfortable casual clothing, closed toe shoes. Dress modestly to visit the State Mosque. Local customs require to have shoulders & knees covered.
