Discover the Old World beauty and charm of southern Australia during this memorable, half-day excursion to historic Handorf.
Mt. Lofty Lookout
Depart the pier for a scenic, approximately 1.5-hour orientation drive through Adelaide City before ascending the 2,100-foot-high (640-metre-high) Mt. Lofty. Upon arrival at the Mt. Lofty Lookout, take in superb panoramic vistas (weather permitting) over the city centre. After your photo stop here, re-board your coach and continue into the countryside, passing by the market gardens and orchards of the Adelaide Hills to Handorf.
Handorf
Acclaimed as the best-known and most interesting town in this region, the German-style village of Handorf was settled by Prussian Lutheran emigrants in 1839; today, it graces numerous postcards due to its charm and history. Magnificent chestnut and elm trees line Handorf's main street, which features original buildings that have been carefully restored to their original glory.
Upon arrival, some free time is made available for you to browse and photograph the village's many charming craft shops, restaurants, and boutiques at your leisure.
Countryside Drive
Following your visit, re-board your coach and commence the approximately 75-minute drive through the countryside outside Adelaide before returning to the pier.
