An approximately 75-minute drive takes you out of Cape Town into the beautiful winelands. This is a completely different set up and landscape than Cape Town. Here time stands still and centuries of fascinating stories live on.

Muratie Wine Estate

Immerse yourself in the tastes, the sights, the sounds and the warm welcome of a truly authentic Cape wine farm. At Muratie visitors become friends, a part of its rich narrative. Located in the Knorhoek Valley north of Stellenbosch, Muratie dates back to 1685 when it was granted by Simon van der Stel, then Governor of the Cape of Good Hope, to German soldier Laurens Campher. Through the centuries Muratie, one of the oldest wine estates in South Africa, had several other colourful owners and is currently under the stewardship of the Melck family, who are deeply rooted here. Through the ages, Muratie amassed an intimate knowledge of the soils and the special influences on the vines. Each vineyard block is treated with reverence and the wines are a natural extension of the site where they were grown. In the cellar, tradition and technology are combined to craft products of superior quality with utmost attention to detail. The Flagship tasting is an unforgettable experience.

Boschendal Wine Estate

Your next stop is Bocshendal Wine Estate. Here enjoy a relaxing picnic - of course only fresh farm to table.  Only the best seasonal and ethically sourced ingredients, and locally made artisanal goods, are added to the picnic baskets. Gather to experience eats and treats for a memorable winelands picnic. Enjoy your picnic while listening to some guitar songs.

At the conclusion of your epic day, re-board your coach for the apporximately 60-minute trasfer back to the pier.

Please note: This tour involves a minimal amount of walking, however, guests must be able to get on and off the coach and negotiate a few steps at the venue.
