Excursion S.a.l.t. northern irish cuisine with chef bronagh duffin tour at Belfast
Cruise line: SilverseaDifficulty:
Discover the secret of Northern Irish cooking during this memorable experience with Chef Bronagh Duffin.
Chef Bronagh Duffin
Bronagh Duffin founded Bakehouse, a small cookery school in the countryside in 2017. As a registered theatre nurse, it was a big step to follow her dream, turning her baking and cooking hobby into a career by opening her own cookery school to share her passion with others. Her desire is to cook delicious, simple, nourishing, locally sourced, seasonal, home-made food and make this available for everyone to learn.
For as long as she remembers, her life has always been about food.
One of her favorite memories is of her as a child eating her Grannies freshly baked soda bread with lots of butter, melting on her fingers and feeling happy and safe at that time. She wants to share that experience in her classes and her traditional baking classes definitely takes you back to your childhood.
Bakehouse Cookery School
Bakehouse is a small family business passionate about food, local beautiful countryside and products. They love to turn fabulous local, seasonal ingredients into delicious dishes and to share these skills in a fun, learning experience. In particular, foraging for the delicious local food such as blackberries or sloes is an amazing opportunity to get outside and bring the tastes and scents into the kitchen table.
Cooking Class & Tasting
After being welcomed with Tea and Coffee, you will begin your Northern Irish Cooking workshop.
Northern Ireland is recognised for its Irish breads made with special soda bread flour, a key ingredient in making northern Irish soda bread.
Bronagh will talk you through all the Northern Irish ingredients and demonstrate how to make a 'traditional cottage pie', served with an Irish favorite of colcannon.
After the workshop you will taste the delicious dishes you have been making.
