Grand Case and Marigot
Depart the pier for the scenic, approximate 45-minute drive to the French capital of Marigot from the Dutch capital of Philipsburg. En route, take in wonderful views of breath-taking hills and valleys. Drive through Grand Case, a seaside fishing village known for its French cuisine, before reaching Marigot. Some time is made available to browse the charming shops, duty-free stores and open-air markets of the French Quarter, relax at an inviting sidewalk café or photograph the picturesque harbour with its many yachts and local boats.
Cole Bay
Your drive continues through the old village of Orleans and up Hope Hill for splendid vistas of the coast, Orient Beach and nearby Pinel Island. From here, the approximately 30-minute return drive to the ship proceeds through the scenic village of Cole Bay. A photo stop is made at the International Look Out Point for stunning views of the Simpson Bay Lagoon and neighbouring islands.
Philipsburg
Next, re-board the coach and drive up Mount William Hill for spectacular views overlooking Philipsburg and the majestic Dutch Harbour. Upon arrival in Philipsburg, see the once-great salt pond in the centre of the Dutch capital and the Dutch Harbour. Following some free time at your leisure to explore Philipsburg, you may opt to re-board the coach for the return to the pier, or remain in town for independent shopping and return to the ship at your own expense.
