The Gannet Islands Ecological Reserve, located 40 km northeast of Cartwright, is the largest and most diverse seabird colony in Labrador. While no Northern Gannets are found there, the reserve protects North America’s largest Razorbill colony with over 15,000 pairs, and the third-largest Atlantic Puffin colony with more than 38,000 pairs.
