Excursion The edge of the island – walk to capo pertusato with tasting tour at Bonifacio

The nature walk will give the opportunity to get a closer look to the rich endemic flora sculpted by the wind and maybe have the chance to spot some birds & butterflies, living in peace on this part of the island and reproducing on the nearby Lavezzi Islands.

Starting at the port of Bonifacio, go by foot along the marina and up the Montée Rostello to reach St Roch Chapel which rises over the port. Your tour will head east to reach the cliffs. The path carries on the protected nature site, along the deeply scored limestone cliffs southeast of Bonifacio which culminate in the wide headland of Capo Pertusato.

On the way pass the Semaphore, a naval observation tower which regulates the heavy shipping traffic of the Straits. Incredible views come to your eyes, embracing Sardinia (9 km away) the Lavezzi and Cavallo islands, and the citadel of Bonifacio perched on the cliffs. At the end is the lighthouse, the southern point of the island Corsica. Depending on the season, you might see some asteriscus maritimus, Thyme, juniper, and some endemic orchids. At about 1 kilometre from the semaphore, you will reach the lighthouse and its square tower, just above the island of St Antoine. Return the same way. To complete your adventure, enjoy a gourmet stop at the Galerie des Ducs, where you'll discover the authentic flavors of Corsica through a tasting of local delicacies in a refined, welcoming setting.From the venue, you’ll also enjoy stunning views over the port of Bonifacio, offering a perfect moment to relax and take in the scenery. Guests are requested to wear comfortable weather-suitable clothing (comfy shoes, Kway, hat, sun cream and water) This approx. 3h00 hike with a change in altitude of about 300 meters.

Please note: This walking tour is designed for guests aged 14 years and older, and is not wheelchair accessible. Guests should wear closed walking shoes that are ankle-tight and non-slip, and it is recommended to dress in long sleeves and pants for protection against the elements. The tour does not require a waiver to be signed, guests should be aware that it may not be suitable for those who suffer from motion sickness, claustrophobia, or fear of heights. There will be no shopping stops during the tour, but guests can bring euros for any personal purchases, as U.S. dollars will not be accepted. Guests are encouraged to bring a hat and sunglasses for sun protection. Please be aware that the tour is subject to weather conditions, and any necessary changes will be communicated in advance.
