Excursion Swakopmund highlights (for in-transit guests only) tour at Walvis Bay

Your adventure begins with a scenic drive along the rugged Atlantic coastline, offering breathtaking views of towering sand dunes on one side and the vast ocean on the other. Explore Swakopmund’s unique architecture, reminiscent of a Bavarian village, as you visit historic landmarks such as the Art Nouveau buildings that have been declared National Monuments. Highlights include the Swakopmund Hotel, the German Lutheran Church, Altes Amtsgericht, and Hohenzollern Haus, each reflecting the town’s rich colonial past.  Next, visit the Swakopmund Museum to discover the town’s intriguing history and learn about the diverse peoples inhabiting Namibia. After the museum, enjoy your free time at the nearby crafts market, where you can browse for local handmade souvenirs and crafts. Conclude your tour with a return to the pier, enriched by a deeper appreciation of Swakopmund’s scenic beauty and historic charm.

Please note: This tour is available to in-transit guests continuing on to the following cruise. Transfer time to/from Swakopmund 45 minutes each way. A moderate amount of walking and standing for approximately 1 km (0.6 miles). At times over gravel roads and uneven surfaces, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach. It is not suitable for guests with limited mobility. Lightweight, comfortable clothing with flat, closed-toe walking shoes and sun protection is recommended.
