Excursion Ravello tour at Amalfi

Cruise line: Silversea
Difficulty:

Discover the tranquil beauty and refined atmosphere of Ravello, a hilltop village known for its spectacular views of the Gulf of Salerno and its rich cultural heritage.

Scenic Drive to Ravello

After meeting your guide at the tender area, board a comfortable minibus for the approximately 30-minute drive inland. As you ascend the scenic hills above Amalfi, enjoy glimpses of the dramatic coastline and the sea below.

Guided Visit to Villa Rufolo

Upon arrival in Ravello, begin your visit with a guided tour of Villa Rufolo, one of the town’s most iconic landmarks. Originally built in the 13th century, the villa blends Moorish, Norman, and Italian architectural influences. Its beautifully landscaped gardens and panoramic terraces inspired composer Richard Wagner, who imagined his opera Parsifal set amidst these stunning surroundings.

Time at Leisure in Ravello

After the villa visit, enjoy approximately one hour of free time to explore Ravello at your own pace. You may choose to visit the town’s impressive Cathedral, founded in 1086, which features Roman sarcophagi, medieval pulpits, and paintings by southern Renaissance artist Andrea da Salerno. Alternatively, relax in a café, admire the scenery, or browse local artisan shops.

At the designated time, regroup with your guide for the return drive to Amalfi and rejoin your ship.
