Excursion Port st mary hike tour at Isola di Man

Cruise line: Silversea
Difficulty:

Leaving the picturesque, historic fishing harbour at Port St Mary, a popular retreat for holiday makers since the late 19th century, join a section of Raad ny Foillan (The Way of The Gull in Manx) coastal path.

Raad ny Foillan is 160 kms long and follows the stunning coastline around the Isle of Man. It's route via golden beaches, cliff top footpaths, woodland, farmland and Manx villages affords spectacular scenery and a variety of stunning landscapes.

Walking from the harbour a gentle rise takes you to Perwick Bay and through Fistard Village then onto tracks across the open fields. Further along the route find The Chasms, one of Isle of Man's unique treasures, a patchwork of dramatic geology. Rock formations and huge crevices in the cliffs are constantly exposed to the erosive effect of the sea and deep cracks develop which cause the cliffs to gradually slip towards the sea.

See Sugarloaf Rock, home to kittiwakes, guillemots and razorbills, before heading inland, towards the folk village of Cregneash and more scenic vistas as you return to Port St Mary.
