Excursion Pico do castelo hike & wine tasting tour at Funchal

Ascend the forested northern slopes of Pico Castelo via stone steps and tree-lined pathways, encountering both introduced and indigenous species that reflect centuries of reforestation. Explore the summit area, home to a statue honoring António Schiappa de Azevedo, and enjoy sweeping island views toward Vila Baleira, the Desertas, and Madeira. Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking for approximately 4.20 km (2.60 miles) and is not suitable for guests with limited mobility. Comfortable walking or hiking shoes and a light jacket are recommended, as some areas include steps, uneven ground, and higher-elevation breezes.
