IMPORTANT NOTE:

This Silver Shore Overland Experience is a small-group luxury program, thoughtfully designed to deliver a highly personalized and immersive safari experience. Availability is limited and confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis. Advance booking is required a minimum of 90 days prior to sailing through Silversea Reservations.

A minimum number of participants is required for this experience to operate as described. Should participation numbers not be met, Silversea reserves the right to offer the program at a revised rate based on private arrangements or to cancel the departure with a full refund.

All Overland Experiences are non-transferable and non-refundable within 90 days of sailing, except in the event of cancellation by Silversea. Programs are operated by independent contractors, and Silversea assumes no responsibility for services provided by these operators.

DAY ONE – Monday, April 5, 2027 – Durban / Shamwari Private Game Reserve

Scheduled Flight to Port Elizabeth

After disembarking the ship, depart Richards Bay pier for an approximately two-hour-and-30-minute transfer to King Shaka International Airport for a scheduled flight to Port Elizabeth.

Transfer to Shamwari Private Game Reserve

Upon arrival in Port Elizabeth, transfer to Shamwari Private Game Reserve. At the main gate, complete check-in formalities before boarding open-air safari vehicles for the transfer to your lodge.

Long Lee Manor & Afternoon Game Drive

Arrive at the elegant Long Lee Manor, a gracious Edwardian-style residence overlooking the expansive plains of Shamwari Private Game Reserve. The property combines classic colonial charm with contemporary comfort, offering a tranquil retreat deeply connected to its natural surroundings. Plains Rooms are generously proportioned and thoughtfully appointed, featuring refined décor, en-suite bathrooms, climate control, and private verandas that open onto the reserve’s open grasslands—inviting moments of quiet reflection accompanied by the sights and sounds of the African wilderness.

Later in the afternoon, depart on your first expertly guided game drive, offering early insight into Shamwari’s remarkable biodiversity. Dinner is served at the lodge.

DAY TWO & THREE – Tuesday & Wednesday, April 6–7, 2027 – Shamwari Private Game Reserve

Each day begins with an early-morning wake-up call, followed by tea and coffee before setting out on a guided game drive. Morning and afternoon safaris provide outstanding opportunities to encounter the Big Five and a diverse array of wildlife thriving within this protected reserve.

Between game drives, return to the lodge for leisurely breakfasts, elegant lunches, and relaxed afternoons at your leisure, complemented by traditional afternoon tea. Evenings conclude with dinner at Long Lee Manor.

DAY FOUR – Thursday, April 8, 2027 – Shamwari Private Game Reserve / Port Elizabeth

Following a final early-morning game drive and breakfast, check out and transfer by coach to Port Elizabeth, where you will rejoin the ship at the pier.

Program Includes:

Three nights’ accommodation in a Plains Room at Long Lee Manor; scheduled economy-class flight from Durban to Port Elizabeth; all meals with selected beverages; morning and afternoon game drives in open-air 4WD safari vehicles; afternoon tea; services of experienced local rangers and guides; and all transfers as per the itinerary.

Please note: This Overland Experience involves early-morning activities and extended periods outdoors. Game drives take place in open-air 4WD safari vehicles and may involve uneven terrain. Guests should be in good health, able to step up into vehicles, and comfortable sitting for extended periods. Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed; safari encounters vary depending on natural conditions and animal movement. Game drives are conducted by professional local rangers and guides, and all instructions provided during safaris must be followed at all times for safety. Temperatures can vary significantly between early mornings, daytime, and evenings. Guests are advised to pack layered clothing in neutral colors, along with a warm jacket, comfortable closed-toe walking shoes, sun protection, and insect repellent. Luggage should be practical and suitable for a multi-night lodge stay. Soft-sided luggage is recommended for ease of handling during transfers and lodge storage. Laundry services, if available at the lodge, are not included unless specifically stated. This experience operates in a remote wildlife reserve. Limited or intermittent mobile phone reception and internet connectivity should be expected. Dietary requirements should be advised to Silversea in advance; while every effort is made to accommodate special diets, availability may be limited due to the remote location. Participation is subject to local weather conditions, aviation schedules, and wildlife activity, and the itinerary order may be adjusted accordingly to ensure guest safety and program quality.
