Excursion Kristiansand wilderness hike: forests, lakes & panoramic views tour at Kristiansand
Cruise line: SilverseaDifficulty:
Start your adventure with a scenic hike from the pier, strolling through Kristiansand’s quiet streets toward a lush park that bridges city and wilderness. Enjoy tranquil lakes and spot local wildlife: birds, squirrels, and perhaps even deer, before continuing into the Kristiansand forest (Bymarka).
Follow the trail past the picturesque lake Bånetjønn, then tackle a steep ascent via stone steps through a narrow passage, a perfect photo stop. At the top, the path winds through forest and rocky terrain toward Bergvannet, where you’ll pause for a treat: Norway’s favorite chocolate, Kvikk Lunsj. On warm days, take a refreshing swim before heading toward Ravndalen, the Valley of the Raven. Here, dramatic viewpoints open to breathtaking vistas over Kristiansand and the Skagerrak Sea.
The descent offers more stunning panoramas, including a spot perched 50 meters above the valley floor. Your journey concludes through a historic park gifted to Kristiansand by King Christian IV in 1641, before returning to the pier.
