Embark from the pier and board your coach for the short drive to the Banjul Ferry Terminal.
Enjoy a 35-minute ferry crossing that takes you to the north bank of the River Gambia at Barra. Meet the minibus that whisks you to Fort Bullen. Visit this historically significant site established by the British in 1823 for the abolition of the Slave Trade.
Reboard your bus for the 45-minute drive to Jerreh Camp situated in the dense forest of Niumi village. Here in the North Bank Region of the River Gambia's mouth learn about local agriculture as you observe the processing of the palm wine and palm oil. Experience a taste of West Africa as you sample the local specialtly, palm wine. Visit a traditional blacksmith community and see the craftsmen at work. Then, enjoy local entertainment and a buffet lunch of traditional Gambian food before the hour drive back to Barra.
Return to the ferry landing for the hour boat trip back to the pier and your ship.
