Excursion Aarhus city highlights tour at Aarhus

Cruise line: Silversea
Difficulty:

Experience the highlights of Aarhus City by coach and on-foot during this picturesque, half-day sightseeing excursion.

Aarhus Cathedral (external only)

Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately 30-minute drive to the beautiful, 800-year-old Aarhus Cathedral, which dominates the surrounding city. Upon arrival, take a external guided tour of the cathedral. Originally built as a Romanesque church, it stands proudly today as a gothic Cathedral with a unique altarpiece and many beautiful frescoes.

Aarhus City Drive

Next, re-board your coach for an orientation drive through the city. Along the way, pass by the Concert Hall and spectacular City Hall. Unmistakable in its coat of Norwegian marble, City Hall was built by world-renowned architect Arne Jacobsen. Your last stop is at the Old Town Museum, a popular national landmark.

Old Town Museum

A collection of 75 reconstructed urban buildings comprise this typically Scandinavian open-air museum. Continually under development, the Old Town Museum is attended daily by craft-workers and conservators, and strives to present old market-town buildings in typical surroundings. Today, the museum is home to Danish buildings from 1927 through the 1970s, and an excellent representation of the evolution of a Danish city.
