The stop in Katakolon was unnecessary: the sea was dirty and there was very little to see. It would have been nice to spend two days in Istanbul. We visited Athens on a Sunday, when all the shops were closed.
I preferred Athens and Istanbul.

I didn’t particularly enjoy Katakolon, although that is purely a matter of personal taste. I might have preferred one less day at sea in favor of another destination, but overall the itinerary was perfectly fine as it was.
