Excursion Molde lagoon kayak adventure tour at Molde

Few settings are more beautiful than the shallow, sheltered waters of the Romsdalfjord south of Molde city center – and this tandem kayak adventure puts you in the middle of that scenery.

Meet your experienced guide at the pier and walk a short distance to the kayak depot to get geared up and safety briefed before setting out into the fjord. The two-hour paddle will carry you along the north side of unspoiled Seterøya Island towards Hjertøya Island and through a group of islets and reefs informally known as the Moldivene. These tranquil lagoon waters are barely deep enough to allow kayaks and small boats to get through – making them even more primal and majestic in their undisturbed isolation. As you glide and explore, your guide will point out key natural features and provide insights to help you better understand the ecology of this unique environment. Several photo stops along the way invite stunning captures of the famous Molde backdrop of 222 partially snow-clad Romsdal Alp peaks. It’s a skyline as captivating as any in Norway.  

Once your paddling session is over, it’s just a short stroll from the kayak depot to your waiting ship.

Note

Please note: This adventure excursion involves a roundtrip walk from pier to kayak station of about 0.45 mi / 0.7 km, plus approximately two hours spent in a tandem kayak on the fjord. Guests must be reasonably fit and able to swim. Prior paddling experience is beneficial but not required. The excursion is not recommended for those with mobility issues or back, neck, respiratory, or heart problems. Kayak, paddle, spray skirt, and lifejacket are provided. Dress in comfortable warm clothing and footwear suitable for kayaking; you may get wet while on the water. Bring a waterproof windbreaker in case of rain, bottled water from the ship, and your preferred sun protection. The order of sights and activities may vary.
