Olden, Innvikfjord and Nordfjord

Depart the pier for the short drive to the helipad in Tyvaneset. Upon arrival, receive your safety instructions, board your helicopter and lift-off for your approximately 30 minutes, narrated flight-seeing tour. Your route begins over Olden, which lies at the head of the Innvikfjord, a branch of the Nordfjord.

Jostedals Glacier

Next, fly over the Jostedals Glacier, the largest glacier on mainland Europe. This glacier has 22 named outlets, or 'glacial arms' or 'tongues', many of which are accessible from Olden. The area offers spectacular scenery, shaped over thousands of years by glacial erosion. Faults and fractures underneath the glacier have carved out valleys and mountain passes.

Myklebust Glacier, Briksdal Glacier, Brenndal Glacier

Highlights to be seen during your helicopter flight-seeing tour include the Myklebust Glacier, Briksdal Glacier, Brenndal Glacier, eastern part of the Nordfjord,Loen valley and Lake Loen. At the conclusion of your tour, return to the helipad, re-board your car and commence the short drive back to the pier.

Please note: This tour involves a minimal amount of walking; however, guests must negotiate the steps to board/de-board the helicopter. This tour is not suitable for guests with a fear of heights, guests prone to airsickness, guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Due to safety reasons, guests who are not mobile self-sufficient, will not be allowed to board the plane. Children between the age 3-16 must be accompanied by an adult and need to book their own seat. The total passenger weight cannot exceed 1200 pounds (about 540 kilograms) which means that the maximum weight is approximately 77kg per person or 155kg per couple. It is imperative that accurate weights for all guests are submitted 48 hours prior to the flight. Due to weight and balance limitations, as well as individual safety and comfort, seating is assigned at the pilot's discretion and tour departure time may be altered onboard. No refund will be given to guests who on the day are exceeding the weight restrictions. A window seat cannot be guaranteed. The total flight time is approximately 30 minutes; flight times can vary based on flight conditions. A signed waiver is required to participate on this tour. Operation of this tour is subject to weather conditions, and may be cancelled on short notice. Views are not guaranteed and no refund will be given in case of cloudy conditions.
