V&A Waterfront is a place of significant historical importance. Nowadays it attracts numerous tourists for its night life but hidden among shops and restaurants the traces of past come through to an attentive eye. Enjoy a guided walking exploration of the dock area including the Breakwater Lodge - the former Industrial prison for convict labour used to build the break water and first basins; the Treadmill – used in 1890 for convict punishment; the Time Ball - used for setting navigation instruments; etc. Learn about the history of fishing industry in South Africa, of the export agricalture and much more.

Proceed on foot to the Zeit MOOCA Musuem where the curator will guide you through a selected exihibition of modern local art.

Please note: This tour is available to in-transit guests continuing on to the following cruise. This tour involves a moderate amount of walking at times over unpaved surfaces with some inclines. It is not suitable for guests with limited walking mobility.  Comfortable clothes and walking shoes, as well as a sun hat, are recommended.
