Excursion Gems of the turquoise coast tour at Cesme

Explore the ancient beauty of Çeşme and its environs during this panoramic, full-day sightseeing excursion with lunch.

Cakabey and Erythrai

Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately 30-minute drive to Cakabey. Upon arrival, a stop is made at a viewpoint on the hill for spectacular panoramic vistas of your surroundings. Afterward, re-board your coach and head to the ruins of Erythrai, an ancient Ionian city nestled on a small peninsula stretching into the Bay of Erythrai, and directly opposite the island of Chios. The ruins include well-preserved Hellenistic walls with towers, of which five are still visible. The approximately 280-foot-tall (85-metre-tall) Acropolis has a theatre on its northern slope, and eastwards lie many remains of Byzantine buildings.

Alaçatı and Dalyan

Next, re-board your coach and continue on to historic Alaçatı a charming little old town famous for its narrow cobbled streets adorned with single- and two-story stone houses. Following an orientation tour of Alaçatı and some free time at your leisure, re-board your coach and drive to Dalyan. Upon arrival at this small harbour settlement, proceed for lunch at one of its many local fish restaurants.

Çeşme

After lunch, re-board your coach and drive back to Çeşme, a seaside resort town adorned by many Ottoman fountains and dominated by Çeşme Castle. Upon arrival, proceed past the Pasha Statue located in front of the castle, and take a guided walking tour of the castle and museum areas. At the conclusion of your visit, re-board your coach for the short drive back to the pier.

Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking, at times over uneven and cobblestone surfaces, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach and several steps at the castle. This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Lightweight, comfortable clothing with flat, closed-toe walking shoes and sun protection are recommended. Guests must be at least 21 years old to consume alcoholic beverages. The tour sequence may vary.
