Scenic drive to Baraka Winery, visit and wine tasting

Depart the port and drive to Baraka winery, a family-owned boutique winery located in the heart of Dalmatia near Šibenik completely focused on making terroir-driven fine wines and great tasting experiences. Small batch winemaking and hands-on approach with constant raising of quality are words the owners would use to describe themselves. Today, they still hold onto the same philosophy that wine is meant to be shared with loved ones so they are thrilled to welcome visitors to their winery, where you become witnesses of the production of exceptional wines. Baraka winery invites you to join this journey and explore the wines during a unique premium wine tasting done partially in the cellar directly from the barrels.

Plastovo Village and Winery Sladic Experience

Afterwards, a scenic drive towards the Skradin hinterland will take you to Pastovo Village and upon arrival visit the winery of the Sladic Family.  This family winery has a long history of winemaking led by the vision of Ante who continued the family tradition. His goal is to achieve exceptional quality in the wines utilizing indigenous varieties in which the family unconditionally believes and feels it is their obligation toshow it to the world. The Sladic Family tries to protect and enhance the environment while respecting the tradition and their cultural heritage.

Located in the village of Plastovo, the vineyards are planted just outside the village on the hills above the historic town of Skradin and close to the Krka River and National Park. This area has a unique microclimate influenced by the river and the Adriatic sea and since it is sitting at 250 meters above sea level it is characterized by cool nights and warm, sunny days.

The Sladic wines are devided into three lines due to different soil types, locations and viticultural practices used. The family is fortunate to have such a variety of microclimate and soil types in a very small area which allows them to create a wide range of wine styles and types. The first line comes from the vineyard planted in rich and fertile soil on the northern slope of the hill above the town of Skradin and is bordering with Krka River giving elegance and freshness to the wines. The second line wines are made from grapes grown in older vineyards on skeletal soil on the top of the hill above Plastovo where cool nights are present. The terroir, low yields, selective picking, painstaking vineyard work and meticulous attention to detail in the cellar make these wines extraordinary. The third line embodies extremely rocky and low yielding terroir of the southern slope of the hill above Skradin . Typical Mediterranean climate yields heavily concentrated, full bodied wines with an enormous aging potential.

You’ll have the chance to visit this winery and enjoy in the unique wine and food experience. Multiple courses of traditional dishes made with local ingredients are expertly paired with the wines in a perfect blend of tastes and smells.
