Please Note: A moderate amount of walking and standing, including approximately 1.5 km (1 mile) of guided walking over flat terrain and wooden boardwalks. The guided walk lasts approximately 1 hour. Guests will travel to the boardwalk entrance by local shuttle bus. Following the guided portion, guests may return to the ship at their leisure; the walk back to the harbor is approximately 2 km (1.25 miles). Walking surfaces include paved pathways, uneven ground, and wooden boardwalks, which may be damp and slippery. This excursion is not suitable for guests with limited mobility. Local infrastructure is basic. While roads in Ilulissat are generally paved, some inclines and steps may be encountered. Coaches, guides, equipment, and services are the best available locally but may not meet the standards found in more developed destinations. We appreciate your flexibility and understanding as we explore this unique and remote region. Lightweight, comfortable clothing with flat, closed-toe walking shoes, sun protection and a weatherproof jacket, hat, scarf, and gloves are recommended. Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed.
