Doha & National Museum of Qatar

Depart from Hamad port for an approximate 45/60 minute drive to the National Museum of Qatar. The museum utilizes music, oral histories, film,

archival footage and even evocative aromas to paint a one-of-a-kind portrait of Qatar's past, present and future. The current building opened to the public on 28 March 2019 was designed by architect Jean Nouvel who was inspired by the desert rose crystal which can be found in Qatar. The museum's mission is to celebrate the culture, heritage and future of Qatar and its people embodying the pride and traditions of Qataris while offering a vision about rapid change and modernization.


Souq Waqif Walking Tour

Leaving the museum, explore the vibrant alleys with an expert local guide to find the best vendors and deals, while learning about Qatari culture and history along the way. Souq Waqif is one of the most distinctively cultural attractions to explore in Qatar and a perfect encapsulation of local culture. Your local Qatari guide will take to some of the hidden gems of Souq Waqif including the Spice & Gold Souq, Falcon and Carpet markets. This is the perfect trip for first time visitors to Qatar and the best way to experience authentic Qatari culture.


Drive for approximately 45/60 minutes back to the ship.

Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking and standing of approximately 0.6 miles (1 km) over uneven surface with a few steps to negotiate at the visited sites and to get on/off the coach. The guided walking tour of the souk is optional. Guests who do not wish to follow the guide can stroll around in the souq independently and meet up with the goup at a designated meeting point/time. This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility or for guests who utilize a wheelchair. We recommend guests wear light comfortable casual clothing, closed toe shoes. Local customs require to have shoulders & knees covered. Photography/videography with a personal camera or cell phone is permitted; however, guests should ask permission to locals prior to taking pictures of them. Guests are informed that in Qatar, alcohol consumption in public is not allowed. The tour sequence may vary.
