Beautiful beaches and rich heritage exude this town, built between the cliffs, and skirted by the majestic Nervión River. However, the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Vizcaya Bridge, built in 1893 and the world's oldest transporter bridge, stands as its symbol of pride. Spanning 536 feet across the water, pedestrians can still cross via a walkway while cars are conveyed in a suspended gondola for the 90-second crossing.

Continuing along the riverbank, enter Bilbao's city center and experience its magnificent display of diverse architecture, from modern to Gothic and Renaissance, including that of the staggering Guggenheim. This awe-inspiring structure's futuristic, curved titanium-clad shapes draw locals and visitors alike and have helped transform this city into a center of creativity.

Before returning to the ship, explore the Old Quarter or Casco Viejo, the historical center of Bilbao. Distinct local traditions of language and gastronomy trace their origins in this region to 2200 BC and are felt here in the many pintxos bars and ancient buildings.
