Excursion Sights of acapulco & cliff divers tour at Acapulco

Cruise line: Silversea
Difficulty:

This half day Acapulco tour has been popular for years with first time visitors. It provides a look at Acapulco that includes spectacular scenery, old and new parts of this much-touted holiday destination and one of its most talked about attractions, the Quebrada cliff divers. Departing from the port, head toward Caleta, Acapulco's first residential area which launched this destination to resort stardom. From here, continue down the winding road to the site of La Quebrada.

Cliff Diver Show

Watch in awe the dramatic performance of the world-famous cliff divers. Standing poised at the edge of a jagged promontory, the divers soar from the 115-foot (35-metre) cliff into the crashing surf below. Since the 1930s, the show has become an enduring symbol of the city. Please note that it is not uncommon for the divers to approach the crowd directly and persistently ask for a tip.

Sightseeing Drive

Proceed with a drive toward downtown and along the main thoroughfare, La Costera Miguel Aleman. The several-mile-long seafront avenue skirting the bay is lined with deluxe hotels, restaurants and shopping complexes. At the end of La Costera, the road winds its way up a steep hillside, offering fantastic views over the city, the bay and the mountain range that provides an impressive backdrop. The guide points out some of the posh villas built by the rich and famous in the prestigious residential area of Las Brisas.

Las Brisas

You will pass the Las Brisas district and enjoy truly breathtaking views of the bay, beaches and high-rise resorts of Acapulco. On your way, admire the vistas offering an expanse of ocean, beach and lush greenery. Heading back to the port, you may opt to be dropped off for shopping, after which make your own way back to the ship. If you prefer, transfer directly to the ship.
