Excursion Nebbio and patrimonio regions tour at Bastia

Cruise line: Silversea
Difficulty:

Experience the splendid natural beauty and flavours of the Nebbio and Patrimonio regions during this panoramic, half-day sightseeing excursion.

Bastia, Nebbio Region, St. Florent's Gulf, Patrimonio Vineyards, Tyrrhenian Sea, Biguglia Pond

Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately 1.5-hour drive through the Nebbio region. Named after the thick mist which sweeps over the region, the Nebbio has, for centuries, been one of the most fertile parts of the island. Formerly called 'Conca d'Oro' (Golden Shell) by Pascal Paoli, the Nebbio region is today reputed for its splendid wines from Patrimonio. During your drive, take spectacular panoramic views down the St. Florent's Gulf and the Patrimonio's vineyards on one side, and the Tyrrhenian Sea and Biguglia Pond on the other side.

Biguglia Pond, San Stefano Pass, Oletta, St. Florent, Free Time

Next, your drive continues along Biguglia Pond en route to the San Stefano Pass, then through Oletta with its multi-coloured houses before arriving at St. Florent, known as the 'Corsican St. Tropez'. Upon arrival, some free time is made available to explore its narrow streets, which are lined with souvenir shops.

Patrimonio Mountains, Local Wine Cellar, Wine Tasting, Teghime Pass

Leaving St. Florent, re-board your coach and drive towards the mountains of the Patrimonio region, reputed to be the finest locale for wine production. Along the way, a stop is made at a wine cellar for a tasting of locally-produced wines. Afterward, re-board your coach and commence the approximately 45-minute drive back to the pier via the Teghime Pass.
