Cruise line: SilverseaDifficulty:
This carefully crafted overland journey offers an in-depth exploration of Iguazú Falls, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most spectacular natural wonders on Earth. Traveling through Argentina’s lush subtropical rainforest, guests experience the falls from multiple perspectives while enjoying seamless logistics, comfortable accommodations, and expertly guided sightseeing.
Day 1: Montevideo to Iguazú
Following disembarkation in Montevideo, guests are transferred to the airport and begin their journey north, flying via Buenos Aires before continuing on to Iguazú. Lunch is at leisure during the travel day. Upon arrival, guests are transferred to their hotel located within Iguazú National Park, offering an exceptional setting surrounded by rainforest and within immediate proximity of the falls.
After check-in, guests can relax and unwind before enjoying dinner at the hotel, featuring a set menu and selected beverages. Overnight accommodation is at the Meliá Iguazú, uniquely positioned inside the national park and offering a privileged natural setting.
Day 2: Iguazú National Park
After breakfast, guests return to Iguazú National Park for a full day dedicated to exploring the Argentine side of the falls through a series of thoughtfully designed walking circuits.
The morning is devoted to the Upper Circuit, where elevated walkways provide sweeping panoramic views above the cascades. From this vantage point, guests can appreciate the immense scale of Iguazú Falls as water rushes toward the river below, while being immersed in the surrounding rainforest.
Lunch is served at Fortín Restaurant within the park and includes selected beverages.
In the afternoon, the experience continues with a visit to the iconic Garganta del Diablo, or Devil’s Throat, reached via a scenic eco-train ride through the park followed by a panoramic walkway. From this dramatic viewpoint, guests stand above the gorge and witness the Iguazú River plunging with extraordinary force into the chasm below, creating one of the most powerful natural scenes in the world.
Following the visit, guests return to the hotel to relax before enjoying dinner at the hotel. Overnight at the Meliá Iguazú.
Day 3: Iguazú to Buenos Aires and Re-Embarkation
After breakfast, guests transfer to the airport for their return flight to Buenos Aires. Upon arrival, and time permitting, a brief sightseeing tour introduces key highlights of the city, featuring scenic drives and selected stops that offer a cultural contrast to the natural landscapes of Iguazú.
