Basse-Terre, St. Claude, Yellow Baths, Volcano Hiking Trek

Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately 30-minute drive to St. Claude. At an altitude of 1,739 feet (about 530 metres), St. Claude is the highest city in the Lesser Antilles and offers a fresh perspective on the Caribbean. Upon arrival, transfer via minivan to the Bains Jaunes (Yellow Baths), a naturally-warm mineral bath, then begin your guided hike up the roof of the Lesser Antilles.

Tropical Rainforest, Rocky Mountainside, La Soufriere Volcano, Summit Visit, Panoramic Views

During this vigorous trek, traverse the lush, tropical rainforest, then walk on the rocky mountainside en route to the approximately 4,813-foot (about 1,467-metre) summit of the imposing La Soufriere Volcano. Upon arrival, take in breath-taking panoramic views of your surrounds, and discover an alien environment where the strong smell of sulphur and deep, rumbling sounds remind you that this volcano is an active one.

Yellow Baths, Beausoleil Picnic Area, Creole Lunch

Leaving the summit, walk back down to the Yellow Baths, then transfer to a picnic area at Beausoleil. Upon arrival, proceed for a Creole picnic lunch. After lunch, re-board your minibus for the approximately 30-minute drive back to the pier.
