A car door slams. A soft melody of traditional Corsican music drifts through the air. It’s time for an unforgettable adventure. Do you smell the wild maquis? The scent of aromatic herbs and sun-warmed earth? And just beyond, the fresh iodine breeze of the Mediterranean reminds you that the sea is never far. Between rugged mountains and crystal-clear waters, Corsica opens its arms to you. Today, all your senses will awaken.
Into the Wild: A 4x4 Experience Like No Other
Comfortably seated aboard our specially equipped 4x4, your certified driver invites you to explore one of the most breathtaking regions in the world: Corsica. This tour is more than just a ride; it’s a journey through the island’s untamed landscapes, rich culture, and hidden gems.
With every turn, every climb, and every descent, you’ll experience Corsica off the beaten path. Our adventure will take you through high mountain ridges, an abandoned village frozen in time, and into the heart of Corsican vineyards, all while soaking in breathtaking views that few travelers get to see.
First Ascent: The Ridges Above Bastia
Leaving Bastia behind, we take a winding mountain track toward Furiani. Soon, the city disappears below, replaced by wild nature and an endless horizon.
Our 4x4 climbs up to 900 meters above sea level, where you’ll be rewarded with an exceptional panoramic view. From here, you can see both the Tyrrhenian and Mediterranean Seas, stretching endlessly in opposite directions. A perfect moment to pause, breathe in the pure mountain air, and take in the spectacular scenery.
The Forgotten Village of Romanacce
Hold on as we begin a thrilling descent down the western slopes, leading us to a place where time stands still—the abandoned village of Romanacce.
Nestled deep in the Corsican wilderness, this ghostly hamlet whispers tales of a forgotten past. Explore its stone ruins, hear the legends from your driver, and imagine what life was like in this remote settlement centuries ago.
A Taste of Corsica in Poggio d’Oletta
After stepping back in time, we return to the present—and to one of Corsica’s greatest traditions: wine.
Welcome to Poggio d'Oletta, a picturesque village at the gateway to Patrimonio, Corsica’s most famous wine region. Here, you have the option to visit a family-run vineyard Clos Clementi, where you’ll:
- Taste a selection of Corsican wines, known for their bold, sun-kissed flavors.
- Learn about the island’s winemaking traditions, passed down through generations.
- Relax in the vineyards, surrounded by rolling hills and stunning views of the countryside.
The Grand Finale: Col de Teghime & Bastia’s Hidden Villages
Our adventure isn’t over yet. We take a final scenic drive back through the legendary Col de Teghime, a place of historical significance where Corsican resistance fighters battled in World War II. This stunning mountain pass offers a final breathtaking view of both the east and west coasts of the island.
Descending toward Bastia, we pass through the charming villages of Suerta and Cardo, where Corsican history, culture, and authenticity remain untouched by time.
Finally, as we return to the port of Bastia, one thing is certain: you have experienced Corsica in a way few ever do.
