Proceed past the historic warehouse complex of Salamanca Place, which now houses shops and restaurants. Along the way, see the elegant, 19th-century mansions and quaint cottages of Battery Point.
Mt. Wellington
Next, ascend Mt. Wellington (or Mt. Nelson, depending on weather conditions), which towers nearly 4,000 feet (1,230 metres) above sea level and is among the area's tallest mountains. Upon arrival, take in spectacular vistas of Hobart City and the south-eastern shores. After your photo stop, re-board your coach and drive by Australia's oldest brewery en route to Queens Domain and the Botanical Gardens.
Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens
Your tour continues with a visit to the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens. Established in 1818 at an Aboriginal site on the Derwent, the botanical gardens feature historic plant collections, 19th-century trees and native Tasmanian species. Upon arrival, some free time is made available for a leisurely stroll about the grounds.
