Depart the pier for the short drive to the heliport in Valdez, and your awaiting helicopter. Upon arrival, receive your safety and flight instructions, then board your helicopter and begin your exhilarating, approximately one-hour helicopter flight-seeing tour over Valdez and its surrounds. After lift-off, see the wonderful coastal community of Valdez. Located near the head of a deep fjord in Prince William Sound, Valdez is an incredibly scenic mix of tidewater glaciers, rainforests, majestic mountains, and other awe-inspiring sites.

Enjoy spectacular panoramic vistas and photo opportunities whilst passing over historic Valdez Harbour, and Valdez Narrows. From here, continue over Prince William Sound,, icebergs, bay ice, fjords, Chugach Mountains, Mineral Creek Glacier and Canyon, and stunning Keystone Canyon, whose majestic waterfalls helped Valdez earn the nickname, ‘Alaska’s Little Switzerland’. In addition, look for abundant wildlife on both land and sea, including whales, dolphins, seals, sea lions, bears, coyotes, eagles, seabirds, and more.

Whilst exploring the many glaciers, glacier lakes, and glacial formations of Valdez and its surrounds, your pilot does some wildlife-spotting before finding the perfect spot to land. After landing, an approximately 30-minute glacier visit is made. Take a guided glacier-walk to experience walking on the ice like the early gold miners did, enjoy breath-taking views and photo opportunities, and use your special commemorative glass to drink some of the pure glacier water whilst enjoying a local treat. Following your glacier visit, re-board your helicopter and commence the short ride back to the heliport. Upon arrival, re-board your coach and commence the short drive back to the pier.

Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking for approximately 133 yards (about 121 metres), with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach and three-four steps to board/de-board the helicopter. Walking at the glacier is at the discretion of each guest. This tour is not suitable for pregnant guests, guests with a fear of heights, guests prone to airsickness, guests with vertigo, guests with a fear of heights, guests who are claustrophobic, guests with limited mobility, and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Guests are advised to wear warm, comfortable clothing in layers with flat, sturdy, and closed-toe walking or hiking shoes, and bring sun protection, a weatherproof jacket, bottled water, and US Dollars or credit cards for purchases from the ship. Guests must be at least 6 years old to participate on this tour; minors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over 18 years old. Each helicopter seats a maximum of three guests, you might not travel together but will be together on the glacier. The total passenger weight cannot exceed 250 pounds (about 113 kilograms). Guests weighing more than 250 pounds (about 120 kilograms) must pay for an additional seat. The onboard Shore Concierge Team will require guest’s weights ahead of time. Guests may be asked to stand on scales; if there is a difference that results in the guests not being able to take the flight, there will be no refund. Seating is assigned at the pilot's discretion in order to balance the helicopter for safety reasons. A window seat is guaranteed. The total flight time is approximately 30 minutes; flight times may vary based on flight conditions. A signed waiver is required to participate on this tour. Operation of this tour is subject to weather conditions, and may be cancelled by the pilot on short notice. The tour sequence, timings, and route may vary.
