Excursion Halfday catamaran tour with old recife tour at Recife

Cruise line: Silversea
Difficulty:

Nicknamed ‘Brazil’s Venice’ because of its many waterways, there are few better ways to see Recife than from the Capibaribe River. Join a catamaran that will take you along Recife’s main waterways, offering a chance to view some of the opulent colonial buildings that give the city its charm. Your guide will provide an introduction to Recife as your catamaran cruises through the city’s historic waterways.

After this relaxing trip, the coach will take you to Praça Marco Zero, the most popular square in the city. From there, your walking tour begins along Rua do Bom Jesus, known for its remarkable 17th-century buildings. You will also visit an old building that now houses the Museum of the Giant Puppets of Olinda. The museum features a permanent exhibition of more than 70 giant puppets, representing TV personalities, singers, journalists, sports figures, politicians, folklore characters, and religious figures. Overall, there are approximately 600 puppets created to date. During carnival parades, the puppets can reach up to 4 meters in height, depending on the person carrying them.

Following the visit, you will return to your vehicle for the short drive back to the pier.
