Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately 70-minute morning drive into the beautiful Adelaide Hills. Your first stop is at Hahndorf, Australia’s oldest surviving German settlement, as well as the best-known and most interesting town in this region. The charming, German-style village of Hanhdorf was settled by Prussian Lutheran emigrants in 1839; today, it graces numerous postcards due to its charm and history. Magnificent chestnut and elm trees line Hahndorf's tree-lined Main Street, which features original buildings that have been carefully restored to their original glory.
