Excursion Forest walk and lunch tour at Victoria

This tour is designed for nature lovers and food lovers alike, as it begins with a forest walk and ends with a delicious lunch at a lovely local restaurant. Visit two local parks, known for their towering ancient fir trees, just outside the City of Victoria.


Departing the pier, drive one hour to your first easy-to-walk nature trail, the Elsie Boardwalk trail built for those with disabilities, or take one of the self-guided trails which allow guests to immerse themselves in a west coast forest, with trees as old as 800 years. The next park, Goldstream, has a world-class salmon spawning stream with thousands of Chum Salmon returning each year, this salmon begins to appear by early to mid-October. Local naturalists accompany the group to talk about the unique features of the area including the local nature flora and fauna.


Next, drive up to the Malahat Chalet, where splendid views of the Saanich Peninsula, Inlet and Finlayson Arm can be seen while dining over lunch. Make the one-hour return to the ship.
