Excursion Discover medan tour at Belawan

On this half-day tour, discover Medan City and learn about local culture and history from ancient times to the 20^th Century. Visit Tjong A Fie Mansion, built by a Hakka merchant who also constructed the Medan-Belawan railway. Discover Pajak Ikan Lama, a local market famous for its beautiful textiles, notably batiks. Explore the Museum of North Sumatra and take in exhibits that include stone carvings from Nias Island, pre-historic gems, impressive Buddhist statues, and 8^th Century Arabic gravestones, and weaponry used during the Indonesian War of Independence.

Please note: This tour is not recommended for guests with walking difficulties as it requires an extensive amount of trekking for about 2.5 miles (4 kilometers), over uneven and natural terrain with some elevation. Walking shoes, light comfortable clothing (with long trousers), bug spray, and sunscreen are recommended. Orangutans sights are common but not guaranteed. Local conditions may be challenging, therefore we urge flexibility and understanding as we visit these unique, and somewhat remote destinations. Guides and transport are the best available in the area.
