Explore the most spectacular topography in northern Iceland during this exhilarating flight-seeing excursion to the Diamond Circle.

Depart the pier for the short drive to the airport. Upon arrival, receive your safety and flight instructions, then board your awaiting airplane and begin your panoramic, approximately 1.5-hour flight-seeing tour. After take-off, fly over the renowned Diamond Circle. A top attraction and must-see in northern Iceland, the Diamond Circle covers an area rich in volcanic and geothermal features. Along the way, marvel at the magnificent Goðafoss Waterfall and Lake Mývatn, with its numerous attractions and geothermal phenomena, such as Krafla, Námasarð, Hvelfjall and pseudo craters. From here, fly over the Dettifoss Waterfall. Europe's most powerful waterfall, its cascades plunge from a height of 144 feet (44 meters) into a narrow canyon.


Game of Thrones Landscape, Vatnajökull National Park, Troll Peninsula Mountains, Akureyri

Next, fly through the landscape of the epic television series, Game of Thrones, which was filmed in this dramatic landscape, then over Vatnajökull National Park and magnificent canyons before the final leg of your flight back to Akureyri. En route, relax and take in the northeast coastline as the Troll Peninsula Mountain range comes to view in the west. At the conclusion of your flight-seeing tour, return to the airport, re-board your coach and commence the short drive back to the pier.
