Excursion Copper coast bird and nature walk tour at Waterford

Depart the pier and travel to the village of Dunhill, located along Waterford's Copper Coast. Dunhill village is part of Copper Coast Global Geopark and will introduce you to the area's rich heritage and geology. Your local guides are members of a local Eco Group and have expert knowledge of the area and native species. The group's aims include; fostering, protecting, promoting and the conservation of nature, wildlife, the environment and habitats within the Waterford area.
The walkway offers plenty of peace and tranquillity and the area is a veritable haven for birds, just some of the varieties you might spot along you walk are; seabirds, gulls, swifts, pipits, warblers and many more. Your local guide will also point out and discuss the abundance of flora and fauna found in the area.
This walk follows the Anne River, meandering through forest and marshland on a specially constructed gravel path on the way to Dunhill Castle, passing many beautiful ponds which are home to a wide range of flora and fauna, including protected species. Please note that we cannot guarantee the sighting of specific species
This tour cost includes a contribution towards the local Eco Group's work. The members will bring some binoculars for guests to use, however, we do recommend that guests bring their own binoculars.

Please note: This tour involves an extensive amount of walking, guests must be fit and capable of walking / standing for up to 2 hours. Guests are advised to wear comfortable walking shoes and warm, waterproof clothing.
