This journey takes you along scenic paths through the lavic fajãs of Fajãzinha and Fajã Grande, revealing stunning cliffs, volcanic terrains, waterfalls, and charming villages that have been shaped by generations of island life.

As you progress, traverse three verdant valleys, witness seabird nesting sites along the rugged coastline, and take in remarkable views of Cartário Islet. Proceed through the quaint village of Mosteiro and appreciate Rocha dos Bordões, one of Flores’ most celebrated geological features, famous for its impressive basalt columns. The hike culminates at the Portal viewpoint, offering breathtaking panoramas of the island’s renowned waterfalls, fossil cliffs, and the delightful villages of Fajãzinha and Fajã Grande.

Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking and standing for approximately 13 km (8 miles). At times over uneven, bumpy volcanic terrain and inclines, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach. Trail conditions may be slippery, particularly after rain, due to water crossings and uneven volcanic terrain. Sturdy walking shoes are strongly recommended. Lightweight, comfortable clothing, flat, closed-toe walking shoes and sun protection are recommended. The tour sequence may vary.
