Excursion Brisbane sights, qagoma and airport transfer tour at Brisbane
Cruise line: SilverseaDifficulty:
Travel by coach for a delightful tour of Brisbane and its surrounding areas. Beneath Brisbane's country-like charm lies the vitality of a bustling city. As the capital of Queensland, Brisbane is not only the state's historic and cultural hub but also the seat of government and a major seaport. Having hosted the World Expo 1988 and the Goodwill Games in 2001, Brisbane has solidified its place as one of the bright stars of Australia's colonization. Today, with a population of more than one and a half million, it stands as the third-largest city in Australia.
Brisbane City Center
During this drive you will pass highlights including Parliament House, the Treasury Building, Customs House, Cultural Centre, the magnificent Brisbane Botanic Gardens and many other historical and landmark properties. Brisbane has the look of a city that has recently grown-up. Much of the old and unsightly has been bulldozed and replaced with glittering glass and concrete towers, hotels and paved shopping malls. The meandering Brisbane River, lush inner city parks and the unusual blend of historic and modern architecture make this city one not to be missed.
Mount Coot-tha
Venture beyond the metropolitan and urban areas as your coach climbs nearly 755 feet above sea level to the Mt. Coot-tha lookout. Here, you'll enjoy an unparalleled panoramic view of the city. A brief stop will allow you to capture memorable photos of the sleek skyscrapers and picturesque suburbs that make up modern Brisbane.
QAGOMA, the Queensland Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art
Continuing the tour, you'll visit QAGOMA, the Queensland Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art. QAGOMA boasts a collection of over 17,000 works of historical, modern, and contemporary art, and features a dynamic program of Australian and international exhibitions. Enjoy some free time exploring this cultural treasure before heading to the airport.
