Excursion The true color of agadir city tour at Agadir
Cruise line: SilverseaDifficulty:
Gain a new perspective on an ancient place on today's tour of Agandir, including a Kasbah, a Berber Souk of Inezgane traditional market and a women's cooperative. Founded in 1505, Agandir has experienced peaks and valleys of prosperity, from a point in the 18th century when only twelve houses remained, to the bustling metropolis approaching one million that exists today.
Drive 15 minutes to your first stop of Kasbah Oufella. This fort (or kasbah) is set high above the Atlantic shoreline, built to defend against the onslaught of Portuguese invaders who planned to call the Berbery Coast their own. The Kasbah is known for its breathtaking view over Agadir's almost endless beach.
Then drive 30 minutes to the Berber Souk of Inezgane.
Your final stop to visit is the Women's Cooperative of Tighanimine. A 30-minute drive takes you to a unique place to see real Moroccans at work. Learn step-by-step how Argan oil is made and the sustainability of the place due to this activity. The Women's Cooperative provides work for 68 women, who have been a part of this beneficial socio-economic project since 2007. Visit the Women's Cooperative shop to purchase some of their products, all made with authentic, high quality Argan oil.
Enjoy tea from the women of Tighanimine, accompanied by homemade Moroccan pastries. Make the return drive (45 minutes) back to the pier.
