Cruise line: SilverseaDifficulty:
Your tour departs from the port the port and starts with a Panoramic drive along Montjuïc Hill.
Montjuich was claimed by the city on the occasion of the 1929 International Exposition, when the mountain was developed and trade fair halls and sports installations were constructed as well as the parks and gardens which are to be found all over the mountain. Nowadays, it is the most important recreational area in Barcelona. You will pass through the Olimpic Ring and have the chance to admire the whole city of Barcelona from your tour bus while passing by the many buildings constructed for the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games.
A stop will be made at the "Spanish Village" in Montjuic Mountain, built for the 1929 Universal Exposition. This original project consisted of recreating the local architectural styles of each Spanish province. A village built in 1929 to represent an ideal model of "Pueblo Iberico", which features replicas of around 116 buildings, squares and streets from all over Spain. The Spanish Village also has large areas dedicated to Spanish art and crafts, where you will be able to purchase all kinds of goods.
Next, drive towards Sagrada Familia, an architectural gem in Barcelona's sprawling skyline, a reflection of the prodigal Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi's distinct imagination and style. Get explanations from the outside of the sublime Sagrada Familia's façades.
It is lunch time and we will enjoy a typical Spanish lunch at a beautiful restaurant by the beach at the Barceloneta area.
Before we head towards the airport, we still have time to visit the Gothic Quarter. You will visit the 13th century Cathedral begun by Jaume II in 1298. You will enjoy a relaxing walking into the Gothic Quarter where the remains of the Roman City survive here alongside Medieval Buildings, witnesses to a splendid past, and where the Catalan monarchy held its court for five hundred years.
The transfer to the airport will take between 30 and 60 minutes depending on traffic conditions.
