Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately 1.5-hour drive through the beautiful panorama of the Banks Peninsula en route to Christchurch. Upon arrival, proceed to the parking area, leave your coach and take a short walk to the punting station on the Avon River. After receiving your safety and punting instructions, embark your punt, a flat-bottomed boat, and enjoy a leisurely cruise along the Avon River. Along the way, sink back into the velvet cushions of your boat and take in the exquisite scenery as the Edwardian punter gently glides you down the river.

Rolleston Avenue, Free Time, Independent Shopping and Exploration, Lunch on Your Own

Following your river-cruise, disembark your punt-boat and join your guide for a short stroll to Rolleston Avenue. Here, your guide leaves you to explore this beautifully restored city independently, and enjoy lunch at your own expense at one of the city's many cafés and restaurants. At the conclusion of your tour, return to the drop-off point, meet your guide, and return to your coach on-foot.

Your tour concludes with an approximately 1.5-hour drive back to the pier via the Banks countryside.

Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking for 383 yards (about 350 metres), at times over uneven surfaces, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach and embark/disembark the punting boat. Walking in Christchurch is at the discretion of each guest. This tour is not suitable for guests who utilise a wheelchair. Guests are advised to wear lightweight, comfortable clothing with flat, closed-toe walking shoes, and bring sun protection, an umbrella, bottled water, and local currency or credit cards for purchases from the ship. The driving distance between the pier and Christchurch is approximately 1.5 hours in each direction.
